• Start: 8:45 AM

• Finish: 3:15 PM 

Arrival and Dismissal Arrangements:

• EYFS and KS1 pupils will arrive and be dismissed onto  the KS1 playground.

• KS2 pupils will use the KS2 playground for arrival and dismissal.

• Families with children in both key stages will have a five minute window to allow for smooth drop-off and pick-up across both playgrounds.

Please note that Birch times are slightly different:

Beyond the Bell Wraparound

As we return to school, we have opened our dates for Breakfast & After School club for our current pupils. New pupils who require club in the first week of term will need to contact Miss Lucy to arrange booking a space via email please at wsle-beyondthebell@coopacademies.co.uk or whatsapp 07808248556. Breakfast club opens 7.30 am on Wednesday 1st September. We cant wait for a whole new year of fun together.

Walker Art Gallery Trip: Year 3 Explores Art & Myth

Year 3 had a wonderful time on their trip to the Walker Art Gallery! The children explored a range of incredible artwork and took part in an engaging, creative workshop where they imagined and created their own endings to a Greek myth. They represented the school beautifully with their enthusiasm and excellent behaviour – well done, Year 3!

R told us that this Allosaurus chomps on sticks and then spits them out. He came into creation completely independently- no adult support at all!
Isn’t he fabulous! 

A Day of Fun and Friendship: Reception Teams Up!

Reception (F2) had the BEST day! It was brilliant to join up with their friends from Co-op Academy Portland and Co-op Academy Hillside and share the experience together.

Every Friday until the end of term is a non-uniform day. We are kindly asking for donations towards our summer fayre. 

We loved coming together at St. Barnabas, Bromborough to celebrate another successful year at Co-op Academy Woodslee.

We took the opportunity to thank those that have helped us along the way and wish those that are leaving us a fond farewell

MATHS OLYMPICS 

Congratulations to the maths superstars from Woodslee for representing your school at the Co-op Academies Maths Olympics event in Manchester yesterday! It's fantastic to hear the children had such a great time competing with and against their friends from Co-op Academy Hillside and Co-op Academy Portland. Well done to everyone involved!

Fizz, Pop, and Balloons: Year 5 Explores Irreversible Reactions!

Year 5 enjoyed learning about irreversible reactions in Science today. We mixed bicarbonate of soda and vinegar and watched as the balloons filled up with carbon dioxide

Budding Scientists: Year 5's Water Purification Adventure!

Year 5 had a fantastic time blending learning and fun at the River Alyn today! Our budding scientists designed and built their very own water purification systems, then put them to the test in a friendly competition to see whose system could produce the cleanest water.

We are holding our annual Careers Fair on Friday 4th July.  We would like it to be bigger and better than ever, so we really need your help! IThe fair will be for Year 5 and Year 6 children between 2:00-3:00pm and then open to all families between 3:00-4:00pm.

If you, or anyone you know, would be able to run a stall please get in touch with the school office. Please do not think your job isn't interesting or important… believe me when I say that it really is!

The final Natterbox session of the academic year is next Friday morning at 9am in the Rainbow Restaurant 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 This session will involve chats surrounding summer activity clubs, things to do this summer holidays and support over the summer holidays. Everyone is welcome to join us. Coffee and biscuits will be provided

Woodslee Garden: A Burst of Life and Learning!

Our Woodslee garden is blooming with plants and produce. Beans, peas, tomatoes, carrots and giant pumpkins surrounded by a host of beautiful plants The children have been busy planting and watering and we are starting to see wildlife appear. Ladybirds, bees, and butterflies to name a few We are looking forward to watching are garden develop

This morning in assembly, Miss Rutherford has shared with us all our new Co-op Ways of Being Ambassador trophies. As a part of the Co-op Academies Trust, we follow four fundamental ways of being. We do what matters most, be yourself always, show you care and we succeed together Every half term we will have an ambassador for each way of being. Police Horses Visit Woodslee for WOW Week!

Did anyone see two enormous police horses trotting around the streets of Brombrough this morning?

The mounted police officers parked their massive vehicle in a safe place off site and then made their way to Woodslee. It was a very impressive sight!

As part of WoW week, our special guests came to tell the children all about their jobs. We couldn’t resist a pat and snuggle!

Milking It! Year 4 Visits Müller Farm!

Today, Year 4 had the exciting opportunity to visit Huntington Farm Hall, a Müller dairy farm that supplies millions of gallons of milk across the country! This invaluable outdoor learning experience significantly deepened the children's understanding of the world of farming, inspiring some to even declare it their future career.

Unmasking Careers: Year 6's Inspirational WOW Week!

Yesterday, our Year 6 World of Work (WOW) week launched with great excitement! A fantastic group of volunteers, disguised in everyday clothes, challenged our children to guess their professions by asking a series of clever questions. These guests were truly inspirational, and we're incredibly grateful for them dedicating their time.

Can you guess who's who? Among our visitors, we had an A&E doctor, a KC barrister, an entrepreneur, a lawyer, and an adult support worker.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on social media about our great team! We appreciate all your feedback. 

Woodslee's Future Workforce: Interview Day Success!

The children spent the morning researching and applying for a job here at Woodslee. In the afternoon, they were interviewed for it, giving them crucial experience that will serve them well in the future.

HUGE thanks to our amazing volunteers, Mr and Mrs Kaney, Dr Suse and Katie for telling us all about their jobs for giving up their time to support us with the interviews.

We just could not be prouder of these absolute superstars for representing us at the Co-op Academy Trust annual poetry festival held at the Co-op HQ in Manchester. They only went and WON the best group performance category.

Celebrating Out-of-School Success: Martial Arts Medal for Our Superstar!

We absolutely love celebrating our pupils' amazing achievements outside of school! A massive well done to our little "pocket rocket" who just earned this incredible, HUGE medal in martial arts! What an outstanding accomplishment!

A Fin-tastic Story & Real Fish in F2!

Our F2 class has been enchanted by a new story, 'The Fish Who Could Wish'! The children were thrilled when Miss Lindsay brought in her own fish, inspiring them to write about their observations and even predict what magical adventures lie ahead in the tale. Mrs. Keenan and Miss O'Rourke are incredibly proud of all their fantastic work!

Woodslee Dodgeballers Show True Grit!

Our Year 5/6 dodgeball team hit the road this morning for a multi-school tournament at Activity For All! It was incredible to witness their outstanding sportsmanship, brilliant team spirit, and fierce desire to win. While we didn't clinch the tournament title, they proudly earned a certificate for their fantastic efforts.

Celebrating a True Champion!

We're incredibly proud of this young man, who absolutely dominated at his football club, snatching two gold medals! What a champion!

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our incredible friends from the RNLI for a crucial assembly on water safety. Everyone listened so attentively to their vital demonstration, learning exactly what to do if they ever need help at the beach or in the water. A huge thank you to the RNLI for coming along and sharing such important knowledge!

I am a local artist and parent. While looking at extra curricular activities for my own children I have noticed the severe lack of offerings for creative children. Wanting to change that, I have launched a couple of introductory classes for primary school aged children. I am DBS checked, safeguarding for out of school clubs certified and hold public liability insurance. I am also a mum of three.

From Classroom to Garden: Science Comes Alive!

World Autism Awareness Day

You may have seen all of our balloons as you collected your child from school today; we have been raising awareness for World Autism Awareness Day. Every child was given a balloon to tie to our fence whilst thinking about what makes them unique. Having autism is not a disability, it’s an ability to see the world differently. Perfect Picnic and Playtime in Squirrel Club!" 🧺⚽️🧁

This week in Squirrel Club, we enjoyed a wonderful picnic and afternoon on the big field— it was too beautiful to stay indoors! We played football, picked daisies, climbed, listened to music, and enjoyed some lovely stories. We always have the best time! 🧺🧁⚽️

Years 5 and 6 Get Active and Strong in Gymnastics with Gym Juniors!

Years 5 and 6 have thoroughly enjoyed getting active this term in their gymnastics lessons. We've been collaborating with Charlotte and the team at Gym Juniors - Bromborough Gymnastics Classes to enhance the children's flexibility and core strength. A big well done to everyone for their hard work! 🤸🏼💪🏻👟

Swimming is back

 We will be launching our SWIMMING LESSONS every afternoon from Tuesday 21 April - Friday 9 May at 15:30-16:00 on SUNDAY EVENING @ 19:00. There will be a maximum of 12 people allowed in the pool at once. Minimum year group for health and safety reasons is year 1. This is available to all children in years 1-6. If your child requires a 1:1 in the pool, please book yourself a space which will be refunded after the session.  

We will also be launching our FUN SWIM SESSION every afternoon from Tuesday 21 April - Friday 9 May at 16:00-16:30 on SUNDAY EVENING @ 19:00. There will be a maximum of 12 people allowed in the pool at once. Minimum year group for health and safety reasons is year 1. This is available to all children in years 1-6. If your child requires a 1:1 in the pool, please book yourself a space which will be refunded after the session.

Asda Cashpot for Schools

We raised an incredible £878.72 for our school and want to send a huge thank you to everyone who supported us through this initiative with Asda. We’ll be reaching out soon to gather your suggestions on how to best use this generous contribution.

We start our day the right way at Woodslee All children are offered breakfast in our breakfast club and warm toast is available for all as they enter school from 8:40am!

S2 Birch Classes: Kneading Their Way to Bread-Making Success!

 Our KS2 Birch classes got creative in the kitchen, making their own bread dough as part of their DT topic. They designed their own recipes, learned the art of kneading, and discovered why kneading is such an important step in bread making. 🍞🥖👩🏼‍🍳

F2 Classes Explore the Growth of Plants in Their Garden

Our F2 classes have thoroughly enjoyed watching plants grow in their gardening area. From digging in the mud to planting seeds and watering their flowers, they've learned firsthand how plants need water and sunlight to thrive. 🌧️☀️🌼

Embark on an Adventure at Dibbinsdale Wood!

Year 3, Year 5, and Birch had an amazing time exploring Dibbinsdale Wood, where they enjoyed nature walks, hands-on learning, and discovering the wonders of the great outdoors.

Teamwork in Action: Building a Maze at Squirrel Club

In Squirrel Club, the children collaborated brilliantly to build an impressive maze. Using planks and crates, they worked hard to create a path that allowed them to walk safely without touching the floor. Fantastic teamwork, everyone! 🧡🤎

Monday Football Coaching: Skills, Games, and Team Selection!

Every Monday evening, we offer football coaching from 3:30 to 4:30 pm for our Year 4, 5, and 6 students. Both girls and boys are welcome to join! If you’d like to participate, please inform Mr. Prescott. Each session focuses on developing skills through fun drills and mini-games. The players for our school’s football team will be selected from these training sessions. ⚽️🥅💙

Happy World Book Day 2025! 📚 This year, our staff theme was inspired by the book Leon and The Place Between. In the story, Leon wants to prove his magical powers to his siblings and volunteers for Abdul Kazan's magic show. With that in mind, Woodslee brought the magic show to life! 🎪🤡🤹🏻‍♀️🪄✨🧚

Year 4 Brings Roman History to Life at Liverpool World Museum

Recently, Year 4 students visited the Liverpool World Museum as part of their History project on the Romans. They had the exciting opportunity to dress as if they were living in Ancient Rome and participated in a hands-on workshop to discover fascinating historical facts! Year 5 Unleashes Creativity in Art Lessons Inspired by 'Ghost in the Garden

Year 5 have had an incredibly fun time this term during their Friday afternoon Art lessons. By combining collage, painting, sketching, and monoprinting, they've created some stunning pieces of artwork 🎨✂️✏️🖼️. Year 3 Princess Rocks a Haircut and Raises £650 for Little Princess Trust!

Wow, you are absolutely AMAZING 🤩! We are truly blown away by the incredible kindness and selflessness shown by our little princess in Year 3 👸🏼👑. Having long, thick hair down to your bottom is a blessing, but choosing to cut it all off and donate it to others who aren't as fortunate is what truly makes you a princess 👸🏼👑. Not only have you donated your hair to the Little Princess Trust, but you've also raised an incredible £650 in sponsorship! We are so incredibly proud of you.

Year 6 Football Team Shows Strong Teamwork at Houlihan Cup!

Our Year 6 football team had an afternoon of fun at Co-op Academy Bebington, competing in the Houlihan Cup against Heswall Primary. While we didn’t come away with the win, the team played brilliantly, creating some fantastic chances and with outstanding saves from our keeper. Onward and upward – we go again! 🎉🙏🏻⚽️💙

Wow… check out the incredible artwork created by our Birch artists! They've been exploring the work of Paul Cézanne and have used a variety of techniques to create their own 'still life' masterpieces, inspired by his style. 🎨🖌️👩‍🎨

Ride and Rant

We did it! Staff from all three Wirral Primary Academies completed our sponsored Spinathon! We managed to spin the combined distance of 1474 miles! (Helped along by Hillside pupils on Friday afternoon). This is same amount of miles from Wirral to Naples in Sothern Italy! A huge thank you to our communities and families for their support and donations. We have raised a huge £1347 for Wirral Mind . We are so proud to be able to raise awareness and much needed funds for such a worthy cause.

Woodslee Year 6 Secures 3rd Place in GoIT Computing Competition!

Last week, Year 6 represented us in Manchester for the trust-wide GoIT computing competition. The challenge was to design a web app that addresses a community issue. After their trip to New Brighton beach, they created an innovative rubbish-finding app that turns cleaning up into a fun game, with levels to work through, points to earn, and even a feature to locate the nearest recycling centre. We’re thrilled to announce that Woodslee’s app came THIRD! 🤩 What an incredible achievement – well done, everyone! Miss Neil and Mrs Stant are so proud of your hard work and creativity! 🤩

On Saturday, 8th February, a group of staff will be cycling non-stop for 6 hours at Bidston Sports and Activity Centre to raise funds for Wirral Mind, an incredible charity supporting mental health in our local community.

The event kicks off with spin classes led by our fabulous school staff, followed by a team effort to keep the wheels turning. Together, we’ll tag-team to ensure at least one bike is spinning at all times and tally up our miles to see how far we can go.

Exercise is a fantastic way to boost mental wellbeing, and this event is all about getting people moving, talking and supporting a cause that makes a real difference.

Please donate to help us reach our goal and support Wirral Mind in their vital work. Every pound raised will help provide mental health resources and support to those who need it most.

Year 2's Money Magic: Adding Coins and Loving Learning!

In Year 2, we’re diving into learning all about money! 💰 The children have been practicing their addition skills by adding coins together to reach a total sum. Miss Fletcher was so impressed by their enthusiasm and love for learning today! Well done, Year 2! 🤩🤗

Maths Superstar: Surveying Flavours and Creating Pictograms

This little superstar worked incredibly hard in her Maths lesson this morning! She conducted a survey to discover her classmates' favourite ice cream flavours and then presented her data in a pictogram. Miss Bostock is beyond proud! 👏🏻🍦

English Star: Crafting Sentences Like a Pro!

Miss Bostock and the entire Birch team were absolutely blown away by this young man’s incredible effort in English this morning. He wrote some fantastic sentences using fronted adverbials! ✍🏼

Many of our pupils have been making the most of the snowy weather this week, enjoying fun-filled moments building snowmen, having snowball fights, and embracing the winter wonderland. We have loved seeing all your pictures!

We'd also like to extend a huge thank you to our wonderful staff member, George, for his dedicated work behind the scenes in keeping our site safe, and to Mrs. Haggett and Miss Rutherford for their early morning site checks at 6am. Your efforts are truly appreciated!

Christmas Magic Arrives at Woodslee!

This week has been filled with festive fun at Woodslee! 🎄 Our KS1 Nativity brought holiday cheer to the stage, while KS2 wowed us with their amazing Christmas Extravaganza. We also had some incredible performances in Hillywood's Got Talent, showcasing our students' creativity and spirit. To top it all off, our Christmas Party Day was a huge hit, with a very special guest – Santa himself! 🎅 What a week of joy and celebration! 🎉

This half term, Year 4 have been exploring the exciting world of volcanoes in Geography! 🌋 For their homework task, Mr. Prescott challenged the children to create their own erupting volcanoes, and wow – the results are truly masterpieces! Well done, Year 4 – your creativity and effort have been amazing! 🌋🎉

What an incredibly special community we have here at Woodslee! 🤩🥰 We are truly humbled by the amazing support from St Barnabas Church, Co-op Allport Road, Kangaroo, and our wonderful new community pioneer, Melanie, who have all helped make this Christmas brighter for our families. 🎅🏼 Miss Rutherford and Steven were out delivering hampers filled with festive cheer to our families this week! 🎁 Please join us in spreading kindness as you receive your hamper and gifts. A Delicious Tradition: Christmas Dinner at Our School

Yesterday, our entire academy came together to enjoy a festive Christmas dinner 🥘! A huge thank you to our fantastic kitchen team for their hard work in serving the children a delicious holiday feast! 🎅🏼🍗 It truly was a wonderful way to celebrate the season!

Exploring Science and Fun: Year 3's Exciting Trip to Eureka

Year 3 had an unforgettable day at the Eureka Science and Discovery Centre 🧪🥼🧬⚗️! Miss Doyle was incredibly impressed with their outstanding behaviour – they truly set the bar high! We’re absolutely thrilled you had such a fun and exciting experience, Year 3.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! 🎅🏼🎄 As our gift to you, we’re excited to announce that raffle tickets are now on sale! 🎄🎅🏼 Just £1 a strip, with some truly amazing prizes up for grabs! Good luck to everyone, and may the holiday spirit be with you! 🎅🏼🎄✨

When the Grinch Met Elf: A Magical Holiday Visit to Our School

What a way to begin our festivities. On Monday, we welcomed the Grinch and his naughty elf . The children all had the opportunity to visit the GRIIIIINCH! in his grotto. What a morning of fun for everyone!

Year 3 has been having a blast with similes this morning in English! 🤩🙌🏼 You all did an amazing job creating some dazzling sentences that really sparkle! ✨ Keep up the awesome work, simile superstars! 🌟📚

Our trips so far on the Woodslee Express was an absolute HIT! 🎉🎅🏼🚌 The kids have had a blast singing along to our awesome playlist as we cruised from the Home Alone house all the way to the North Pole! 🎶❄️ We’ve had the best time! Get ready for more adventure 🚌🎅🏼🎉
