Happy Friday and welcome to this week's  Newsletter!

It's been another wonderful week of Curiosity, Connectivity, Creativity, and Care here at Woodslee, as the lovely colours of Autumn start to surround us. We were especially proud to see so many of our pupils wearing red today in powerful support of our "Show Racism the Red Card" work. We truly are a caring and inclusive school, and our children demonstrate that brilliant spirit every single day! This is our last week before we break up for half term, so please make sure your child is in school every day to catch all the fun! We have lots to look forward to, including our popular school disco on Wednesday and a pumpkin-themed surprise for every pupil. As the weather turns cooler and the leaves begin to fall, we are finding a lot of lost jumpers, cardigans, coats, and even lunch boxes around the school. Please help us get these items back to their rightful owners by making sure that your child's name is clearly labelled on every single item they bring into school. Have a wonderful weekend, and we'll see you all bright and early on Monday!

Getting Spooky!

The spooky spirit is spreading! πŸ•·οΈ

Our staff have been getting seriously creative β€” check out some of the latest πŸ‘» πŸŽƒ doors that have appeared around school! We have been told that some children have been so inspired that that have  decorated their doors at home too!

Coming up- Active Travel Week: Let's Get Moving!

The week commencing Monday 17th November is our Active Travel Week, and we're encouraging all our pupils to ride, scoot, or stride to school! On Friday 21st November, we will be holding our annual Bling Your Ride day where you will be invited to decorate your bike, scooter or trainers to parade around our school.

Getting to school actively is a brilliant way to:

  • Boost your energy for a day of learning.

  • Help the environment by reducing car journeys.

  • Have fun with friends and family before school starts!

Important: Park & Stride

We know that many of our families live too far away to walk the whole distance to Woodslee, and that's okay!

If you usually drive, we encourage you to try our 'Park & Stride' approach. Instead of driving all the way to the school gates, please park a little further away from school (safely, of course!) and walk the rest of the way with your child. Even a 5 or 10-minute walk makes a big difference!

F2 enjoyed an Autumnal πŸ‚ nature walk around the school 🏫 grounds this week.

They explored how the trees 🌳 change in Autumn πŸ‚ and also had a little play on the KS1 climbing frame πŸ˜€

We do our best πŸ‘Œ learning outdoors πŸ™Œ
