Message from Mrs Haggett

What a fantastic final week it's been before our half-term break! From the flashing lights and great tunes our disco to all the spooky, autumnal fun at our very own pumpkin patch set up on the school field, it's been another busy and enriching week for all. A massive thank you goes out  to our amazing parents for their incredible support, which was vital in making the disco and the associated fundraising such a huge success. Your help makes a real difference! It's time for a well-deserved rest, and we look forward to seeing all our wonderful children refreshed and ready to go when we return on Monday, November 3rd, at 8:45 AM.

Y5 Scientists take Flight

Our Year 5 pupils have been exploring the science of forces by making and testing their very own parachutes! They worked creatively to select materials, carefully timed their drops, and compared results to see which designs stayed in the air the longest.

It was wonderful to see curiosity in action, creativity in design, connectivity through teamwork, and care in the way pupils tested and supported one another’s ideas.

Well done, Year 5 — you really let your learning soar! 🌟

Coming up- Active Travel Week: Let's Get Moving!

The week commencing Monday 17th November is our Active Travel Week, and we're encouraging all our pupils to ride, scoot, or stride to school! On Friday 21st November, we will be holding our annual Bling Your Ride day where you will be invited to decorate your bike, scooter or trainers to parade around our school.

Getting to school actively is a brilliant way to:

  • Boost your energy for a day of learning.

  • Help the environment by reducing car journeys.

  • Have fun with friends and family before school starts!

Important: Park & Stride

We know that many of our families live too far away to walk the whole distance to Woodslee, and that's okay!

If you usually drive, we encourage you to try our 'Park & Stride' approach. Instead of driving all the way to the school gates, please park a little further away from school (safely, of course!) and walk the rest of the way with your child. Even a 5 or 10-minute walk makes a big difference!

See you next time!
