Message from Mrs Haggett

It has been an absolutely fantastic week of learning across the school, with our classrooms buzzing with energy and progress. As we move further into the season, temperatures are  dropping and rain is  becoming a regular feature of our school day.  Please ensure your child arrives with a warm waterproof coat, clearly marked with their name on the label.

We want to thank you for your patience as we transition our school meal bookings to the Arbor app. We are aware there have been some  glitches, but please rest assured that our priority is ensuring every child who wants a hot meal receives one. If you are experiencing any difficulties navigating the new system or placing an order, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office—we are here to help and happy to walk you through the process.

Schools Pledge Launch

?? We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Healthy School Pledge! ??

We are so excited to be taking part in this important initiative, encouraging everyone in our school community to make positive choices and lead healthy, active lifestyles.

A huge thank you to Rebecca for visiting us and delivering a fantastic assembly all about healthy living — the children loved it and were truly inspired!

We can’t wait to share more about our Healthy School Pledge journey with you soon. ?????????

 Important: Birthday Treats & Cakes

As part of our commitment to the School Pledge and to keep all our students safe (especially those with allergies), we kindly ask that no whole class cakes, sweets, or treats be brought in from home. We still love to celebrate! To keep things fair and healthy, the school will provide special whole-class treats during key times of the year, such as Christmas  and Easter.

Building a Better Lunch Box

A nutritious lunch provides the "brain fuel" needed for a successful afternoon of learning. If your child brings a packed lunch, please aim for a balanced mix:

  • Fuel Up: Wholemeal bread, wraps, or pasta

  • Grow Strong: Protein like chicken, eggs, or beans

  • Get Your Glow: Plenty of colourful fruit and veg

  • Stay Hydrated: Water or plain milk are the best choices

Did you know? High-sugar snacks can lead to a "sugar crash," making it harder to concentrate in class. Swapping a chocolate bar for a piece of fruit makes a huge difference!

Why Attendance Matters

Every Day Counts! Why Attendance Matters So Much!

We know life happens, and sometimes being absent is unavoidable. But did you know that every day you miss school means lost learning time? It's true! Each day is packed with new lessons, exciting discoveries, and crucial building blocks for your education. When you miss even one day, it can be really tough to catch up on missed work and feel confident with new topics.

Think of school like a team sport: every player needs to be there to practice, learn the skills and contribute to the game. When someone's missing, the whole team feels it! The same goes for your learning journey. You're part of a classroom community where every discussion, every activity, and every teacher explanation helps you grow.

Why is consistent attendance SO important?

  • Keeps you on track! You won't fall behind on important subjects.

  • Builds confidence! Understanding what's happening makes school more fun.

  • Helps you make friends! Being present means more time with your classmates.

  • Develops good habits! Punctuality and responsibility are skills for life!

Let's make a commitment to be here, ready to learn, every day! If you're struggling to get to school, or if there are barriers making it difficult, please reach out to us. We're here to support you and ensure you get the most out of your school experience.

Let's make every day a learning day! See you bright and early!
