Headteachers Welcome
On behalf of the staff and the academy community council of Co-op Academy Woodslee, a warm welcome to you and your family to our school and website.
At Co-op Academy Woodslee, our belief is:
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
It is a privilege and a pleasure to welcome you to Co-op Academy Woodslee. I am proud to be the headteacher at this amazing academy.
Co-op Academy Woodslee is nestled in the heart of the Bromborough community and we serve children within the Wirral South area. We are a one and a half form entry mainstream school with Social and Communication resourced provision bases.
Co-op Academy Woodslee is the foundation for future members of society and by directing our children on the right track they will flourish academically, spiritually, morally, culturally and socially.
At Woodslee we value every member of our school community and we provide a learning environment where our pupils can grow, learn and love in a safe and secure way.
All children are encouraged to go beyond what is possible; to think for themselves, to apply their acquired knowledge and skills, to improve and to transform. Our children persevere through every challenge and live lives full of faith, hope, empathy, ambition and aspiration. Every child is unique and this is celebrated in all that we do at Co-op Academy Woodslee.
Our policy promotes British values (democracy, British Law, individual liberty, mutual respect, tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs). Our Co-op Values: All of this is based upon the values of Co-op Group which will inform our behaviours.
-
Self-help: We will always try to do things for ourselves in the right way and at the right time.
-
Self-responsibility: Everyone should act in a responsible way around the academy site and in the local community. We take responsibility for our own learning; we want to become independent learners.
-
Equality: We are proud to be part of a multicultural and socially inclusive academy, with students from all over the world; it is important that we treat each other with respect and accept that others may be different from ourselves. We should all have equal chances to succeed.
-
Equity: We want to look for the best in each other. Rewarding others fairly to encourage all types of achievement.
-
Democracy: We will contribute our ideas to make the academy a success. Solidarity: We can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals.

I look forward to working with you in partnership to secure the very best outcomes for your children.
Kind regards,
Ms Bergman,
Executive Head
