Initial Teacher Training
Train to Teach with our Initial Teacher Training Programme

At Co-op Academies Trust, we believe in changing lives through education. We train future teachers to work with pupils, colleagues and communities – helping everyone succeed.
You’ll benefit from expert support, real classroom experience from day one, and a curriculum designed to help you grow confidently into a brilliant teacher.
Why Train at Co-op Academy Woodslee?
Co-op Academy Woodslee is a fully inclusive and ambitious primary academy, welcoming children from Nursery through to Year 6. Training here gives you the chance to develop your classroom practice within a rich, well-sequenced curriculum while learning from experienced colleagues who are committed to helping every child, and every trainee, thrive.
Woodslee is particularly strong in inclusion and SEND, with three resourced provision bases working alongside the mainstream school. This gives trainees valuable experience of adaptive teaching, specialist support and inclusive practice, supported by expertise from academy leaders, Trust colleagues, specialist practitioners and external agencies.
You’ll be supported by dedicated mentors, protected meeting time and high-quality professional development, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the Wirral Co-op Academies. With positive behaviour for learning, a strong personal development offer and a genuine focus on the whole child, Woodslee provides an excellent environment in which to build your confidence, broaden your experience and grow into an inclusive, reflective teacher.
Our ITT Offer
Co-op Academies Trust believes in changing the lives of young people through empowering teachers and young people to work together for a better education and a better community.
The Trust brings together expertise from across Primary, Secondary, Special and Further Education in an aim to promote excellence in all aspects of education.
Our provision is a combination of practical training, both within and outside of the classroom; a proactive and evidence-informed curriculum to build your pedagogical and subject knowledge with a further academic focus provided by university professionals. Our courses offer Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) accredited by Bright Futures SCITT, part of the Bright Futures Teaching School Hub as well as a Masters Level Qualification through the Postgraduate Certificate in Education awarded by The University of Derby (PGCE with 60 Masters Credits).
As a Trainee Teacher with Co-op Academies, you can immerse yourself in school life from day one and join a team of staff committed to delivering the highest quality learning and teaching to children across our Trust.
If you are keen to learn from a range of professionals currently in a full time role within our placement schools, then our school-led training is the route for you.
